About Me

I'm Vincent Pasili Imbumi, a freelance product engineer based in Nairobi, Kenya. I partner with founders across fintech, Web3, and infrastructure: shaping the idea, shipping the product, and keeping it running. I also lead Codemechs, the practice I founded for engagements that need a curated team of designers and engineers.

Why I work this way

Most founders building production systems in our space hit the same wall. They hire a designer who can't ship code. They hire a developer who can't think in strategy. They hire an agency that can do both, but only on a 12-month retainer.

I work as the alternative. One operator who thinks in product, designs in detail, ships in production, and stays past launch. No handoffs between disciplines because the disciplines live in the same head. When a project outgrows one person, I bring in Codemechs.

A product I built and shipped

Before partnering with founders, I built Fiberwave, an internet service provider I designed from the ground up. It now serves thousands of subscribers across six counties in Western Kenya, on a stack that runs Starlink upstream, MikroTik network infrastructure, M-Pesa for billing, and a custom CRM I wrote myself.

A team runs the day-to-day so my calendar stays open for client work. Fiberwave is proof: I ship products that survive contact with real customers, real money, and real failure modes, not just demos.

When I ship for you, I ship like an operator who has done it.

What I believe

  1. 01Production code is a different discipline from prototype code. I do the first.
  2. 02Strategy, design, and engineering belong in the same room.
  3. 03The interesting work is in the constraints, not the features.
  4. 04Operators ship the best products because they live with the consequences.
  5. 05African-built can mean globally exceptional. I act on that.

Ready when you are.
